A sweet, gentle story. Grace lives on a space station with her mother, Evelyn. But she longs for exploration and adventure. So when she plans to accompany her mom, Kendra, on a trip to Titan, she can’t wait. But when Kendra gets caught up with work, Grace take matters into her own hands.
Nice representation of having two moms, especially ones who are separated. Details of the arrangement are not explicitly stated, but it’s pretty clear they have different parenting styles.
Beautiful illustrations. The contrast between the neutrality of the ships and the wonder of space outside was nicely highlighted.
Storywise, the pacing is fairly slow. There isn’t a ton of open communication and the resolution was soft. By the end, Grace seems to have a better understanding of Evelyn, which was a nice touch.
I did enjoy the backmatter that explained the inspiration behind the space-themed place names in the book. There is also a brief look at concept art and the process of creating the cover, which was interesting.
Overall, it was a nice read.
