Fun retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk. This one is kind of text-heavy so good for older children. I liked the illustrations, especially trying to find the cat on each page. Fun way to get readers to pay close attention to the pictures. Overall, the story was good. A clever twist on the original tale. I did think it was kind of long for a picture book. But it was well-written and funny. I especially liked the Giant and Jack throwing beans around the kitchen chanting, “No more beans”. Great image that really sticks with you and brings a smile to your face.
