Cute story. I have not watched the Sunny Day show. I picked this up at the library to read with one of the little girls I work with who went through a Sunny Day phase recently. She enjoyed it, especially when Rox and Blair got stuck together.

Overall, this was a good book. This is a Step 1 book, recommended for preschool to kindergarten readers. It uses big text, simple words, and picture clues to aid in reading for beginners.

The story itself was good. I liked the out-of-the-box thinking and focus on working together. The pictures were pretty good as well. I was a little confused why the “super-sticky hair stray” was a gel/liquid rather than a “spray”. Some of the artwork was reused (all of the ballerinas at the end are the same picture with different skin colors), but I don’t think a young reader would really mind/notice.

Nice read for Sunny Day fans.
