Fun-filled collection of Adventure Time shorts, most of which somehow relate to desserts, sugar, and overall sweetness. This is the first in the Sugary Shorts series that I have read and I enjoyed it.
As with the other Adventure Time comics I have read, there is a nice diversity in the stories and artwork featured in this collection. Each story is very unique and fun. I can honestly say there wasn’t a single story in this collection that I didn’t like.
Some of my personal favorites were Luke Pearson‘s (no surprise there- love you, Hilda!) “Snow Hope”, Frank Gibson‘s “Once Upon a Time” (Becky Dreistadt‘s artwork is so adorable!), and James the Stanton‘s “Sphagnum Shmagnum”. Ian McGinty‘s “Short Cakes” series was also super cute.
To be honest I picked this book up at the library thinking it was the third volume in the regular Adventure Time Comics Vol. 1 series (I was in a hurry, okay?). But after reading it, I am glad I did pick it up. Although now I have very another Adventure Time series to get through. Oh well, such is life.
