I picked this book up because I loved Zita the Spacegirl and really enjoyed the mash up book Mighty Jack and Zita the Spacegirl so I thought it would be nice to get some background on Mighty Jack. I actually think I liked this even more than Zita.
There is a lot of set up in this book and there isn’t too much going on plot-wise, but I actually didn’t mind that. I easily got lost in the environment of the book and really enjoyed getting a feel of the characters.
No surprise, but the artwork is fantastic in this one. I loved the coloring and all of the strange plants that grow in the garden. So beautiful, terrifying, and amazing.
This was a phenomenal book and I am glad that I got the second book at the same time, because I am ready to find out what happens next. What a fantastic read.
