I received this book from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review. This was a good book. Taylor shares a very unique experience as she details her work in investigating her mother’s mysterious death. While some of the narrative is a bit slow (going through the start and stop pattern of investigation and having to deal with uncooperative law enforcement), the overall layout of the book is well constructive.I loved how Taylor takes positive messages out of this experience and explains how she grew as a person from the tragedy. The book also briefly discusses depression and the stigma of mental health, which are crucial issues in society. The book is well written and the reveal at the end was perfectly presented. Taylor demonstrates not only her investigative skills and her determination, but also her skills in writing and expressing powerful emotions in words. Taylor lays everything out on the line in the book and it is as powerful as it is heart-wrenching.
