A fantastic adventure with some serious Hildafolk vibes and a charm all its own.
As a sort of inverse to Hilda, the sassy and sarcastic Aster moves from the city to what she sees as the boring wilderness with nothing to do. However, this wilderness is not all it seems. As Aster explores the wild, she makes new friends, uncovers hidden dangers, and discovers a wonderful world of personified seasons, smelly (but friendly) monsters, wish-granting tricksters, and wooly pups.
The book is broken down into two interconnected stories, each with magic, imagination, creative thinking, and adventure. I loved Karensac’s art style and the warm color pallet.
A great adventure featuring magic, friendship, personal growth, and being open to new experiences. From giant birds and robots to seasonal disruption and mysterious encounters, this book has a little of everything.
Loved this read. Perfect for fans of Hilda looking for a brand-new adventure. Can’t wait to read the next book!
