In many of my tutorials, I uses plastic wrap or film as the clear front on picture frames. This is a perfect way to upcycle plastic packaging. Ironically enough, I get more of the plastic film I use from large picture or poster frames. Because you can never have too many picture frames apparently.

Here is the tutorial for attaching the plastic wrap to the picture frame.

1. Once you have made your frame, lay a piece of plastic wrap behind it. The piece should be slightly larger than the opening of the frame.

2. Use masking tape to secure the film in place.

3. If you’re happy with the results, you can leave as is. However, when using the method with frames made from thin cardboard, it is likely the frame will warp overtime. To prevent this, you can add a second layer of cardboard to strengthen the frame and ensure it stays flat. Essentially, you are going to make a second frame. Each piece does not have to be as wide as the original frame. It should fit over the opening of the frame.

4. Use hot glue to secure the second frame over the first so that the plastic wrap is sandwiched between the two. You can also tape the edges if you would like.

5. Then you can add pieces to the frame to hold the picture in place.
