A fantastic story of how a village in Janwaar, India was transformed by a skate park. In Janwaar, there is a firm divide between the Adivasis and the Yadavs. But as children from both groups gather at the new skate park and make their own rules, that divide starts to crumble. The book follows Ramkesh as he learns to skateboard, travels the world, and witnesses the changes in his village.
Well-written with nice illustrations.
Includes an Author’s Note at the back with more information about those involved in the project.
A great narrative nonfiction picture book that celebrates social change, community, and skateboarding.
