A wonderful book that is short and simple, but filled with very good information. The book goes through various concepts such as emptiness and compassion, the middle path, and attachment. The tone is very conversational as it is based on interviews, which makes it easy to connect to.
I also really liked the inclusion of sections on how Buddhism fits into modern societies as well as a kind of history of the Dalai Lama and the reincarnation of Avalokitesvara.
Interesting read that has a lot to teach. I am definitely interested in reading other books in this series. My only critique was that I thought the quotes that were pulled out for emphasis and presented alone on various pages kind of broken up the reading in an awkward way. The quotes were well chosen but interrupted the reading for me. Otherwise a very good read.
