I received this book from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review. I honestly don’t think I have ever been more excited to write a review for a book. I just finished the book and absolutely loved it. This is such a fun story! I love the plot and all the games/riddles/codes along the way. The characters are great and very well-developed for a young readers book. The plot doesn’t just focus on the book hunt, but also ties in family and friendships in a way that felt natural and well rounded.Despite the length of the book, it only took me three days to complete, because I just could not put it down. The plot jumps around a bit, which makes the book more enjoyable because it doesn’t just focus on one aspect of the characters’ lives.I normally don’t comment on the covers of books (because don’t judge a book by its cover and all that), but this one is specifically noteworthy. The jacket is well done and what originally caught my eye, but the hardcover is gorgeous and quite ingenious. The author also includes notes in the back of the book that explain historical references, adding another layer to the intrigue of the book. This is the kind of book that people of all ages can enjoy. I really hope the author continues writing, because she is truly talented and I would love to read more from her.
