I received a copy from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review. This was a very well written book. I have not read the first book in the series, but this book was written in a way that a new reader could still follow the characters and the story was not dependent on the first book.I really enjoyed the representation of addiction throughout the text as it brings up many of the hardships of addiction that occur even after a person stops using. I also liked that the book wasn’t solely about Asher’s addiction, but rather it came up during events of the story (especially stressful ones) to demonstrate the added pressure addiction has on everyday life (although Asher’s adventures are far more stressful than the every day). The story was suspenseful with a lot of characters that got a little hard to keep track of at times, but overall this was a good book.
