A story of friendship and belonging with an incredible all-female assemble. Diana is the only child on the island of Themyscira. When she was little, that made her feel special. But now… she’s just lonely. Caught between being too young and too old, what Diana really wants is a friend. Taking inspiration from her own creation, she decides to make one. But how far should you go in the name of friendship?
A fun look at Diana’s childhood on Themyscira and what it was like being the only child. Works well even if you’re not a superhero fan.
A nice blend of action, adventure, and humor mixed with messages about friendship, outside expectations, and doing the right thing. I love how the messages are worked into the story so they feel natural without being preachy.
Great illustrations with a cartoony style that still delivers on the action sequences.
The story deals with themes of loneliness, not feeling understood, friendship, peer pressure, and owning up to your mistakes.
Also includes the first chapter of Zatanna & the House of Secrets.
A fun start to a series of self-contained adventures. I enjoyed the blend of entertainment and naturally worked in messages.
