I picked this book up from a Little Free Library to read with a Dora fan that I used to work with. She really enjoyed the flaps and looking for candy pieces along the way. A fun, engaging read. One of the things I really liked was that many of the flaps were incorporated into the story (“find candy behind two pumpkins that match”). The flaps weren’t just added into the book, they made up part of the story, which made it more engaging. The only Spanish words in the book is “hola” so not very good for exposing children to Spanish, but the flaps worked well for having children guess what would be behind each one and where the candy would be. Cute illustrations. Simple story that closely follows the show. This was overall a nice read. Goodreads |
