I have been enjoying slowly making my way through Oliver’s collections. While I absolutely adore her nature poetry, I was pleasantly surprised by this collection’s themes of love and relationships.
Wonderfully crafted, these short poems leave the reader with a wonderful sense of calm. A sweet collection celebrating the joys of love and life.
A few of my personal favorites were “Cobb Creek”, “For Tom Shaw S.S.J.E. (1945-2014)”, “I Did Think, Let’s Go About This Slowly”, “That Little Beast”, and “Not Anyone Who Says”.
It’s always a treat to read a Mary Oliver collection and this one did not disappoint.
