A fascinating read that pairs historically-inspired recipes with haunted places around the U.S. I always love a cookbook that you can read all the way through and this one offers plenty of interesting tidbits about paranormal research, history, hauntings, and true crime.
A brief history is given for each place as well as some of the hauntings it’s known for. Then it is paired with a related recipe. Each recipe includes a stunningly spooky photograph. Locations are organized by type and include hotels; private homes; restaurants and taverns; historic landmarks; jails, prisons, asylums, and sanatoriums; and ghost towns.
At the end, there are themed meals plans, recipes listed by course, and a bibliography for further reading.
Well-written with plenty of interesting recipes and haunting tales. A great read for those who love food and ghosts as it perfectly blends the two.
