That. Was. Adorable.
Sometimes when a book gets a lot of attention, I go into it thinking it’ll be overhyped. Here, that was not the case. I loved watching Charlie and Nick’s friendship and romantic feelings develop. This book is so sweet and fun and adorable.
Despite all the sweetness and romantic tension, the book also addresses some important issues such as figuring out one’s sexuality, standing up to homophobic jerkfaces, and recognizing when a “relationship” is one-sided. I love how supportive Nick is and how Charlie grows during their friendship. They are the best! So glad Oseman developed the love lives of these side characters into its own series.
I love Charlie and Nick. I want more Charlie and Nick. I’ve already requested the second book from the library. After that cliffhanger ending, I need more.
