Illustrated by Kate Berube

3 stars

A visually pleasing story that perfectly encapsulates the beauty of doing something you love. Every Friday, one of the students gets to share a talent with the entire school. Today, it’s John’s turn. He’s nervous all day, but as he starts performing, magic happens.

The illustrations are wonderful. It was so beautiful to see how John’s confidence grows as he starts dancing. His joy was infectious. Nice details and movement within the artwork. Can easily point out different ballet positions such as fourth position, plié, arabesque, and pirouette and clothing worn such as ballet slippers and a leotard.

The story is told in simple and straight-forward fashion.

Great for fans of ballet and dance. Works well for talking about stage fright, being nervous, how to be a good audience member, and doing what you love. Such a sweet story.
