A straightforward story where Robin takes the lead. Alfred gives Robin a secret delivery to bring to Batman at the museum with strict instructions to not stray from the path or talk to anyone along the way. But when Robin gets sidetracked, things get a bit out of hand. Will he be able to right his mistakes and help save the day?
This is an early chapter book so the writing is very simple. Plotwise, it was okay. The full-color illustrations are nice. As far as fairy tale retellings go, I didn’t really engage with the story. It was a pretty standard rehashing of Little Red Riding Hood. However, I do think young fans of superheroes will enjoy this series.
I did enjoy the backmatter. There is a short summary of Little Red Riding Hood (the tame version) and how it is similar and different to this story. There is also a list of Talk About It and Write About It questions. They provide critical thinking and writing prompts that actually sound fun and would make cool writing assignments.
Works as a beginner’s chapter book that would be of interest to superhero fans.
