An interesting non-fiction picture book about allergies. The book covers what causes allergies, common allergens, various symptoms, and how they are treated. The content is simplified for a young audience. It goes through various concepts such as allergens in an easy to understand way.
The book is formatted with short breakout sections with interesting information, charts, bolded terms found in the glossary, and different scenarios of kids with allergies. There are stock photos throughout. Backmatter contains an activity for finding allergens listed on food packaging, a glossary, and recommended websites and books for learning more.
Overall, a nice presentation of information. Would work well for school reports, for those who have allergies, and those who don’t who are interested in learning more.
