It’s her very first picture day and Molly is excited. But when Mom reveals the dress she wants Molly to wear, all that excitement is gone. The dress has a weird collar and puffy parts and no pockets. It doesn’t feel like Molly at all. Now Molly has to decide whether she wants to wear the uncomfortable dress or find something that feels more like her.
Such a sweet book. I loved that Molly’s mom gave her the freedom to make her own choice and decide what felt most like her. Also loved how supportive Molly’s friends are. Such a delightful read of self-expression and affirmation.
The pictures are absolutely adorable. They really showcase Molly’s personality and the various emotions she felt throughout the day.
Nice read overall. Works well for talking about self expression, confidence, and gender expectations and expressions.
