Absolutely loved this collection! There is so much positive energy and joy packed into this book. Despite the struggles presented in each story, they all show so much love and acceptance in their themes and characters. There’s a great variety in terms of plot, style, and the authors who wrote them. Loved seeing all their differences and the common themes that brought them together.
I really enjoyed reading this one. It is absolutely beautiful with great variety. So many themes are included such as trying to keep with tradition or create a perfect Eid, changes to Eid traditions, getting along with family, and practicing generosity.
A few of my personal favorites include S. K. Ali‘s “Don’ut Break Tradition”, G. Willow Wilson‘s “Seraj Captures the Moon” (Sara Alfageeh‘s artwork is phenomenal!), and Huda Al-Marashi‘s “Not Only an Only”.
A fantastic collection centered around Eid (both Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr) that incorporates family, friendship, and kindness. A pleasure to read.
