A delightful picture book depicting a family’s Day of the Dead celebration. There is so much joy packed into each page. It goes through various traditions such as making alters, decorating sugar skulls, writing poems, and sharing stories. With each task, the connection to family – both living and dead – is felt.
A wonderful emphasis on family, stories, and remembering those we miss. The book also makes it clear that the Day of the Dead is a happy time about remembering and connecting, not a scary time associated with Halloween.
Complete with lovely, colorful illustrations that perfectly capture the mood of the story. A beautiful story of celebration and connection.
