As you may have noticed, for many of my picture frame projects, I reuse the plastic film packaging of other items (such as larger poster frames, ironically enough). There are so many uses for this plastic wrap. But I will admit, it took me a bit to figure out how to best store the plastic film. If you fold a large piece at all, it becomes creased and you have to cut it apart so it lays flat. For a while, it was just laying on top of my craft shelf, constantly falling down and getting in the way.

Luckily, after wrapping presents I came up with a space-saving idea that is easy and convenient.

All you’ll need is some sort of tubing and a pair of scissors. This is one that was used as part of the packaging to a grill I bought last year. You can also use the empty wrapping paper tubes, extra PVC pipe, or even an empty paper towel roll if your plastic is small enough.

Cut the film so that it is narrow enough to fit the length of whatever tube/piping system you created. Then begin to wrap the plastic film around the tube. You can roll one long sheet onto the tube or multiple shorter pieces together.

If desired you can also place an empty paper towel or toilet paper roll over the plastic film to keep it in place as shown in the Holiday Hack post.
