Pan deals with many issues growing up from friendship struggles to body image issues to dealing with bullies. But Pan has a secret. There is an underlying puzzle that intrudes his thoughts and he cannot seem to solve it. Follow Pan on his journey to understanding himself as he navigates the world with undiagnosed OCD.
Well-written. The story is heartfelt and honest about the ups and downs of the journey. The majority of the book follows Cooke’s childhood before his diagnosis as he tries to figure out his intrusive thoughts and the incessant need to repeat actions and routines until they are done exactly right.
Entertaining and informational. I love the book’s emphasis on there being different subtypes of OCD and calling out stereotypes and misconceptions. Does a good job explaining obsessions, compulsions, the corresponding anxiety and unease, and how it can be treated.
A nice way for readers to gain some understanding on their own diagnosis or learn about the experiences of someone with OCD. Great emphasis on empathy, talking to others when something is wrong, and the power of knowledge and understanding.
Great artwork that nicely portrays the confusion, anxiety, and incompleteness that Pan feels.
A great read for those looking to learn more about OCD and how it affects one’s daily life.
