Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.
I’ve seen a lot of hype about this book and it is much deserved. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but was sucked into the blending of Marjorie’s and Wendell’s worlds.
A girl whose family owns a laundromat befriending a sheet-donning ghost has got to be one of the best pairings I’ve ever seen. This book explores the hardships of life but also shows the power of kindness to make change.
The artwork is fascinatingly wonderful, full of texture, perfectly muted color, and detail.
Featuring a hardworking teen, a runaway ghost, family tragedies, and a conniving wannabe businessman, this book beautifully blends the mundane with the paranormal, the relatable with the magical. All the details come together so splendidly at the end.
A wonderful read that has me longing to start on the sequel.
