| A simplified version of Saved by the Shell! (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). This is a Step 2 book recommended for preschool to first grade readers. It includes basic vocab, a simple story, and short sentences. Overall, it was good. I was a little disappointed that I had already read a book based on the episode, “Day One, Part One.” Illustration are interesting. Ending is left pretty open, as it was based on a part-one-episode. I thought it was a little weird that April looks so happy at the end, even though her father just got abducted by the Kraang and she is now going to live in the sewers with a bunch of giant talking turtles (but the whole father thing wasn’t mentioned in this simplified book so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt- plus, pizza).
