I’ve been enjoying the anime so far and thought I’d give the manga a try. The first volume covers the first 5 episodes of the anime. The show sticks pretty closely to the manga from what I remember. There are a few changes of when information is revealed that’s a bit more streamlined in the show.

An entertaining read overall. Satoru Mikami was just an average guy living an uneventful life. The next thing he knows, he’s been reincarnated as a slime in a mystical world straight out of an RPG. As he learns and acquires new skills, he proves that maybe the slime isn’t as weak a monster as everyone thinks.

The story is a nice combo of adventure and humor. The art works very well. I was especially impressed by the visuals before Rimuru gained sight. There’s plenty of action as well as unexpected friendships along the way.

At the end is a bonus story from Veldora’s point of view, which was entertaining. There are also a few short comics and explanations of some of the references.

A well-drawn manga with a quirky concept. Great for those who enjoy video-game-style storylines.
