Another fun dive into the Land of Stories. Alex and Conner are back in the real world after their first adventure in their father’s homeland. This comes with its own ups and downs, including a new dog, getting used to school again, and their mother’s changing relationship with her coworker, Bob. But when someone kidnaps their mother, the twins can’t sit idly by and wait for the grownups to come up with a plan. Back in the fairy tale world, Alex and Conner reunite with old friends, meet new ones, and face a new villain out to rule the world.
This was a fun read overall. Interesting story. Writing was still just alright but for a children’s book, I can see why it’s popular.
A nice read for those who love fantasy, especially with a mix of fairy tales.
Colfer reads this audiobook as well and does a nice job. His changes in voice for each character made listening more engaging.
Overall this is a fun series.
