| Kind of disappointed with this one. I have not seen the new Grinch movie, but obviously know the Grinch story. This is basically a list of all the things the Grinch doesn’t like about Christmas. Dr. Seuss said it better in the original in my opinion (plus this one doesn’t even rhyme). Some of the lines are clever or funny, like not wanted to eat candy out of a stinky sock (stocking). It’s cute, but not all the interesting. Very disappointed in the “artwork”. It’s pretty much the same 5 images of the Grinch repeated over and over again. Cindy-Lou appears on two pages with the exact same image on each. And Max appears four times, but has the same two images repeated. I’ll admit the ending was cute, but overall the book was pretty lackluster. Goodreads |
