Honestly, when I first started this series, I thought it was fine, but the more of the books I read, the more I get to know the characters, the more deeply I fall in love with the series.
While the books often take a similar path, each one is unique and fun. In this one, the Princess in Black is exhausted from constantly fighting monsters, motivating Princess Magnolia to take a well-earned vacation. But all doesn’t work out according to plan.
It’s thrilling that more heroes are being introduced in the series and it was great to officially meet the Goat Avenger. I also like that Princess Sneezewort is getting more involved. I absolutely love her character.
As always, the illustrations are adorable and pair well with the text. I especially enjoyed the Princess in Black’s sleepy attempts at monster fighting in this one. Very humorous.
The adventure is fast-paced and fun. The use of dual plots in the book makes for a read that is more complex and interesting without being overwhelming.
New monsters. New heroes. New adventure. Such a wonderful series. I have really enjoyed these books so far and can’t wait to read more.
