Interesting concept with some good lyrical narration.

For me, this book didn’t feel quite finished. It read more like a draft than an ending piece. I didn’t connect with any of the characters, there wasn’t a whole lot of plot, and I didn’t really get a good feel for the Seep. While I enjoyed the ideas and descriptions of the “soft” invasion, it was really just background to a rather boring journey of a woman finding a new identity. There were some interesting components, but the story felt more like an exploration of topics brought up at a dinner party with friends, rather than a complete book.

This book did some interesting things, but for me it wasn’t enough to pull me in or make me think. It just presents some things then lets them slip through its fingers instead of really fleshing out the details or giving them full contemplation.

Overall, an okay read. Not a great fit for me.
