A sweet story with stunning artwork. This gentle fantasy follows Wisteria, a new sprite to the neighborhood. When humans came to the land long ago, sprites took a backseat and let them take over caring for the plants. But after watching a wannabe gardener struggle to make her mother’s plants grow, Wisteria tries a more active approach. A lovely tale of friendship, community, and working together.
The artwork in this is stunning. Beautiful use of color, soft and comforting. The character designs are fantastic. I loved seeing how each sprite reflected the plant that shared their name.
As it is a gentle fantasy, the plot is very calm, following Wisteria on her journey of discovery with a nice, slow pace.
The book also contains the original one-page comic that inspired the book as well as character designs and early concepts.
A beautiful book. Perfect for lovers of growing things looking for a relaxing and joyous read.
