Wasn’t sure what to expect, but this one was adorable. Meet Gumluck, also known as the Little Wizard Who Lives in the Big Hill, or so he thinks. He spends his time thinking of others, helping them without thanks, and doing his best to make them happy. All he really wants is to be crowned Harvest Hero, but can the ungrateful townspeople and greedy kind recognize the helpfulness in his unconventional methods?
Told by a rather grouchy raven, this story was so entertaining. A nice short read with plenty of humor and fun. Wonderful pencil sketch illustrations pair perfectly with the text and advance the story.
This book is filled with great characters from Butterscotch, the adorable ghost who may or may not have been a warrior; Helvetic, the raven who just wants to build her nest; and of course, Gumluck, the sweet little wizard who always tries his best.
Nice messages about not worrying about what other’s think, showing kindness, supporting your friends, and believing in each other. Looking forward to the next book.
