A fantastic follow-up to the first book. Wonderfully written with unforgettable characters. Same charm as the first book with additional characters (along with old favorites), new adventures, and new problems to solve.
In this one, the Vanderbeekers forge new friendships, reunite with established friends, make some unexpected discoveries, and band together to beautify their neighborhood.
One aspect I especially enjoy about this series is that there are consequences for actions. The Vanderbeeker children make mistakes here and there and are held accountable. It’s not made out to be a huge deal but they still have to help make it right. It’s a small thing, but a nice theme to see in children’s books.
An adorable story with plenty of wonderful messages worked in such as not judging others by past encounters, thinking of others, and standing up for what you believe in.
I love the world and the characters Karina Yan Glaser has created and can’t wait to read the next adventure.
