A cute story told by a feline detective who makes sure there are no bears in Little Bear Bakery.
I enjoyed the artsy style of the illustrations and the sleuth-y little cat, Muffin. This is a good book for teaching similes because of the sheer volume of them, but I think sometimes the comparison kind of overpowered the description. There are just so many. While they are nicely related to the story (“like icing melting down a hot cake”, “like a muffin between the couch cushions”), there were many of the, making the writing feel a bit awkward.
But overall, a fun read. Great illustrations, simple yet entertaining story. I also really enjoyed the contrast between the front and back end-papers.
