So weird and I love it! Welcome to the Twistwood Forest where there’s always something creeping through the trees. Is it a Smolem, a human-eating lollipop, a pair of robber duckies, or a friendly Imagician? Dive in to find out.
I’ve read a few of these comics online, but it was great to have them together in one collection. Whether you’re familiar with the characters or this is your first meeting with them, this book is a lot of fun. All the characters are so interesting. There’s Bucket Boy who just wants to be useful, the eerie Fairy Gourd Mother on the hunt for naughty pumpkins, Dr. Crowley who may or may not know what he’s doing, Mr. Wolf with his heartwrenching backstory, Tater Sam and his attempts to learn French, and so many more.
The artwork is absolutely stunning. Great character designs, backgrounds, and fun details throughout.
Nice blend of humorous, heartfelt, and creepy stories. There’s magic, darkness, encouragement, and a little bit of life advice. I loved getting a peak into the lives of those living in and around the forest.
Within each comic, there is a little something to look out for. See the list in the back for a fun little hide-and-find adventure. Also includes a black-and-white poster of Cuthbert’s Map of the Twistwood Forest & Beyond.
Nice themes of friendship and helping others, with a little dark humor sprinkled on top. Such a fun collection. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know all the characters.
