It is unfortunate that many of the events this book details took place, however Horwitz does a remarkable job of piecing them all together to create a narrative of the struggles against the use of Navy sonar. Well-written and remarkably detailed, this is truly an outstanding book. It really sucks the reader into the legal battles and pulls at the heartstrings until the very last page. A definite must read. This book branches over multiple areas (law, politics, activism, science, marine biology), yet explains it all in simple terms for laypeople. Very well done. |
