As she navigates the conscription games and their aftermath, she makes some unexpected connections, encounters hints about her family’s past, and learns that perhaps Hyalin’s history isn’t as clear-cut as her school would have her believe.
Gorgeous worldbuilding. The inner workings of Hyalin were fascinating. Definitely intrigued to learn more in the next volume.
A great cast of characters. I absolutely loved Veda’s character and her determination to keep her daughter safe at all costs.
