An okay spin on Greek mythology. In the first book in the series, ten-year-old Zeus is kidnapped from his island home only to discover a secret about his identity. Now he must set off on a quest to uncover the truth and take down the evil King Cronus.

The artwork is absolutely wonderful. Each chapter has a full-page black-and-white illustration with fantastic detail.

The writing is okay. Nice short chapters for young readers with plenty of action. I didn’t really engage with the writing. The story itself was fine. A bit cheesy and I didn’t particularly like the characters.

A good introduction to the series. Sets up the next book well. Could see this working well as a precursor to the Percy Jackson series.
